Ronald McDonald House Chicago Donor Wall: Red Hot Heart

 80 unique doors will be showcased on two gallery walls in the main public area of the Ronald McDonald House being built in the heart of downtown Chicago near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. The doors are meant to symbolize the philosophy that ” The doors of Ronald McDonald House are always open for you.”  To learn more click on the following links:

Materials used: 

  • Purple glazed tile
  • Antique blue painted wood
  • Opalesent orange glass mosaic
  • Heart printed and laminated to 1/4 acrylic
  • Clear purple casted acrylic door knob

Acrylic hearts were created and laid out on a birch plywood base.

Industrial epoxy putty was used to secure the variety of materials prior to grouting.

Charcoal grout added the contrast between the variety of materials used on the door.
