Ronald McDonald House Chicago Donor Wall: HaPpY CaT

 80 unique doors will be showcased on two gallery walls in the main public area of the Ronald McDonald House being built in the heart of downtown Chicago near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. The doors are meant to symbolize the philosophy that ” The doors of Ronald McDonald House are always open for you.”  To learn more click on the following links:

Materials used: 

  • Mosaic tile
  • Birch plywood frame
  • Pine door knob
  • 1/4 inch debossed magnesium plate cat

Debossed magnesium plate was created, bandsaw cut to shape, and coated with a clear gloss for a final shiny look.

Tile was broken by a hammer and glued in place with epoxy putty glue. A charcoal grey grout creates a dark contrast to the brightly colored mosaic tile.
